Announcements
Last Year
We started the 2012-2013 school year with a 400% increase in membership.  We fill the robotics lab, physics lab and the programmers have taken over the Biology room.  It's a pretty amazing site and you can see what we are doing if you view our video below.

Thanks to a generous contribution from Knox County schools and JC Penney, we are building year round.

Fantastic News
Radio Systems Corporation – home of the PetSafe and SportDOG brands – has recently awarded $3,000 to the L&N Stem Academy’s First Robotics Team 3966. The generous grant from PetSafe will provide badly needed materials and supplies. We sincerely thank PetSafe.
THANK YOU KNOX COUNTY SCHOOLS!!!
We were informed this week that Knox County Schools would be supporting our robotics team with $7,500.  We are very excited about this.  We are not out of the woods in fundraising, but this is a significant start.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

First Robotics Manuals and Documents
On this web page we have new areas to keep our information in one central place.  On the right side are links that can be used to find manuals that tell us all about all of the exciting parts we received in our kit.  On the bottom there is a folder that has documents that help us understand the competition.  Have fun exploring all of the wonderful parts that we received; we can make magic.

One thing that struck me at the Kick-off was that we need to stop saying the word impossible.  We can say that it is improbable, or difficult, or expensive, or other things.  The inventor of Microsoft's Kinect said that if they used the word impossible they would have never completed the Kinect system for game control.

We need to support each other.  This will be tough, but not impossible! ;-)

Participation
Our team members are very busy people and as I coach understand.  Please participate as much as you want.  We only ask one thing;  that you do what you say you will do.
  • If you volunteer to help for one hour a week on Wednesday after school, you will let down your team mates if you do not meet that commitment.
Please understand that those that participate the most will get first choice areas they work.  One hour a week will still be helpful and we welcome everyone that can help.
